Hotels Near Red Rocks Amphitheatre: Where to Stay for a Concert

Anyone booking hotels near Red Rocks runs into the same problem, because RTD stops running evening buses long before the encore. From downtown Denver it’s about 15 miles southwest, so you’re looking at 35 to 45 minutes once you’ve parked. It’s also 6,450 feet up, which the second beer will point out before the opener finishes.
Where to Stay Near Red Rocks: Three Areas Compared
A cottage that’s perfect for two gets silly once eight friends try to share it. So the best hotels near Red Rocks depend on who’s coming, and this guide sorts places to stay near Red Rocks by area.
| Area | Drive to Red Rocks | Type of hotels | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Morrison | 5 to 15 min | Cottages and a bed and breakfast | Couples who want the shortest ride home |
| Golden | 10 to 15 min | Boutique and chain hotels | Groups who want dinner before the show |
| Downtown Denver | 25 to 45 min | Large city hotels | Visitors who stay a few days before or after the concert |
Golden ends up the middle ground for most groups, since it’s close to the venue and still serves dinner after 9pm. Distances below come from mapping tools, so they may differ by a mile from what a hotel’s own website says.
Hotels in Morrison, Colorado
Morrison is tiny, with about 400 residents, although it sits right off C-470 at the mouth of Bear Creek canyon. Rooms here are few, so they sell out early when a big act plays on a weekend.
Cliff House Lodge & Hot Tub Cottages is at 121 Stone St, about a mile from Red Rocks by the lodge’s own count. Eight cottages surround the original Cliff House from 1873. Six of them have private hot tubs on enclosed patios, so the post-show soak happens a few steps from bed.
Arrowhead Manor is a bed and breakfast at 9284 US Hwy 285, near Meyer Ranch Park. The inn says it’s 10 to 15 minutes to Red Rocks, which feels optimistic for about 15 miles of road. Still, you get a fireplace and a jetted or private tub, and breakfast’s cooked to order.
Hotels in Golden, Colorado: Downtown
Downtown Golden is the walkable choice, since Washington Avenue runs under the “Howdy Folks!” arch and Clear Creek cuts through town. If the show’s on a Thursday, the Coors Brewery tour a few blocks away is open that afternoon, although you’ll need a reservation.
The Eddy Taproom & Hotel is the boutique hotel of the bunch, with just 49 rooms at 1640 8th St. Red Rocks is about 8.5 miles off, so the fire-pit lawn by the taproom is a decent place to wait out pre-show traffic.
Table Mountain Inn at 1310 Washington Ave has 74 rooms and suites, about 7.3 miles from the venue. The adobe-style building also has a Grill & Cantina with a covered patio on the main street.
The Golden Hotel at 800 11th St is about 7.5 miles from Red Rocks and backs onto Clear Creek. Bridgewater Grill has a creekside patio there, so breakfast comes with the sound of water.
Each one sits 13 to 15 minutes from the venue by car, mostly on Jefferson County back roads. With doors at 7pm, that means leaving Golden by about 6:30 when you want a decent spot in line.
Hotels on West Colfax and 6th Avenue
The chain hotels line West Colfax Avenue and the 6th Avenue frontage road, close to I-70 and C-470. These are the hotels close to Red Rocks with the most rooms, so they’re the fallback when Golden fills up.
Origin Red Rocks, a Wyndham Hotel at 18485 W Colfax Ave, is the closest of the chains at 3 to 4 miles. You can eat at Nomad Taqueria + Beer Garden without moving the car, and there’s free parking anyway. It’s pet-friendly too, which helps when the dog sitter cancels on a Friday.
Hampton Inn Denver-West/Golden, 5.4 miles out at 17150 W Colfax Ave, has an indoor heated pool for the chilly October shows. Its neighbor at 17140, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Golden, backs onto an 18-hole golf course, so a morning tee time and a late show fit in one day.
Courtyard Denver Golden/Red Rocks at 14700 W 6th Ave Frontage Rd keeps a restaurant and bar on site, since a frontage road 6.5 miles from the venue isn’t much of a dining district. Next door at 14600, Residence Inn Denver Golden/Red Rocks gives every suite a full kitchen. Dogs up to 60 pounds can stay too, for a fee.
Hotels with Shuttle to Red Rocks
A hotel concert shuttle runs on its own clock, so you’ll leave when the van leaves even if the band’s still bowing. Three of the four hotels with shuttle to Red Rocks below use outside vendors, so the terms change by season.
| Hotel | Shuttle terms |
|---|---|
| Origin Red Rocks | Extra fee of about $60 round trip, and seats sell out fast |
| The Eddy Taproom & Hotel | $100 per guest per stay plus card fees, leaving an hour before the show |
| Arrowhead Manor | $120 round trip for two, plus $60 per extra person |
| Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver | Out 45 minutes before doors time, back 30 minutes after the last song |
Arrowhead Manor wants the shuttle requested when you book the room, while Origin warns that seats go fast on sold-out nights. Check the details with the front desk before you buy tickets for a late show.
Staying in Downtown Denver for a Red Rocks Show
Downtown Denver works for a long weekend, especially when the concert is one night out of several. From Union Station it’s about 16 miles by road, so a Friday trip can take anywhere between 25 and 45 minutes.
Of the big downtown hotels, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver at 1717 Champa St is the one we found with a concert shuttle. Everyone else downtown needs a Red Rocks shuttle from Denver or a car, because the W Line ends in Golden and never gets near Morrison. Flying in the same day is fine too, because our Denver Airport car service can take you from DEN to the hotel first.
Getting from Your Hotel to Red Rocks and Back
The ride home is the part people underestimate, because rideshare pickup happens in the Jurassic Lot inside Entrance 2 off Highway 93. The walk downhill takes a while, and then a few thousand phones open the same app at once.
A private car drops you at the Top Parking Lot, also called Top Circle, while the driver waits until the encore ends. Our Red Rocks private shuttle runs door-to-door from Denver and Boulder in about 40 minutes.
| Vehicle | Denver to Red Rocks, one way | Boulder to Red Rocks, one way |
|---|---|---|
| SUV, 1 to 5 | from $250 | from $275 |
| Van, 1 to 9 | from $379 | from $399 |
| Van, 1 to 14 | from $449 | from $475 |
A 20% gratuity is added to the price, so a $250 SUV ride comes to $300 once the tip is in. Seat counts sit on the SUV and van fleet page.
Chauffeur Service Cost – One Way Red Rocks
Red rocks car service is priced per vehicle, not per head. A standard 20% gratuity is added on top. And Red Rocks bookings are round-trip only. The rest is on our rates.

We had an amazing experience with Niko our driver and new friend. The original driver was tied up with airport delay and Niko said he would take of us and he did. I would highly recommend Niko and his company for your transportation requirements, you will not be disappointed!! Thank you so much for an awesome experience!

We had an amazing experience with this company! They took care of all our transportation throughout our vacation — two evenings for «Goose» at Red Rocks, plus a round trip to Breckenridge. Dan even showed us the scenic route over Loveland Pass instead of going through the tunnel. Excellent service from start to finish!

Our driver Greg was excellent! He knew about the closure in Glenwood Canyon and took us through the stunning Independence Pass instead. The drive from Denver Airport to Aspen took less than four hours, and the scenery along the way was absolutely beautiful. Greg was friendly, professional, and great to talk to. We highly recommend this private transportation company!

Absolutely wonderful! Niko was on time, efficient, a great driver and knowledgeable about Redrocks and the area. Clean, nice van for 12 of us. It rained before the concert so after dropping us off he came back and picked us up, letting us sit in the van until the rain passed. It was a helpful way to keep us dry and enjoy the concert fully when it started. Thanks Niko!

Our first experience with Mr. Chauffeur was outstanding. From pickup to drop-off, communication was clear, and the trip went smoothly. The driver demonstrated exceptional skill in navigating traffic and knew the best route for a quick stop at the box office before dropping us off at the concert. Our driver was dedicated to coordinating a meeting spot after the concert and ensuring passenger comfort and punctuality. We highly recommend Mr. Chauffeur for private transportation and plan to use their services again.

We used a car service from Cherry Creek to Red Rocks concert and had a great experience. Driver Niko was professional, punctual, and made the whole trip smooth and comfortable. The best part was not having to deal with parking. Everything was handled smooth from pickup to drop-off upper north lot and back to hotel. Reliable, comfortable, see you next time!
